With more companies adopting blogs, we're starting to see what works and what doesn't work from a design perspective. As a cue from Jakob Nielsen's article on the topic, here are thing problems I often find.
Online Marketing Through Social Networking Sites
By herry brown at 2009-12-11 05:52:24
Online social networking sites have absolutely exploded in popularity with all age groups on the internet. The ease of use and navigating of these social sites has opened the door to even the technically timid. Facebook has even recently reported that baby boomers outnumber high school age users at their site.
Do a careful search for the groups on social networking site in which people of your target market or business industry might have joined. In case you are in the field of Internet marketing, do search for the groups which are associated with network marketing, home business, internet marketing or MLM. This is called as the target market.
Social networking is a great way to connect, but it's important to keep in mind that a public site is just that. You do not know who is reading your content nor do you have much control over how it's stored or administered. Membership management software combined with an online community allows you enhanced control and security.
Internet Marketers and Business owners know the value of networking. Social networking offers tremendous opportunities locally, nationally and globally for meeting new people who share similar business interests. This window of opportunity can boost your image, your business and build all kinds of lasting relationships.
It's NOT about posting, sending and otherwise spamming hundreds or thousands of others. Because interaction is a key feature of these sites, the potential for backlash is enormous. Social networking sites are back-and-forth communication forums, not broadcast media. Annoy or abuse people and they'll tell the world.
Networking For Professionals is similar to Ryze Networking in that it caters to serious business professionals and entrepreneurs. The site requires a fee to join, which separates the serious business networkers from the "pretenders."The site merges both online and offline networking, which makes sense in business. If you do not plan to use the site regularly, Networking For Professionals is probably not a good choice for you.
Network marketers can utilize social networking sites to make money from a marketing standpoint as well. You get to know people by interacting with people on a social basis and can have influence over them whereas you might not have been able to do that in the past.
When you've signed up for a number of social bookmarking sites it´s time to start designing your profile. Make your profile eye catching and nice looking, don't just plaster your profile with banners and links to the things you are promoting because that will just make it look bad and not very personal.
Online social networking sites are easy access to the general public therefore assume that all your posted information will be on display. By not posting anything you wouldn't want the general public to see you've taken great strides towards protecting yourself online.
Social networking sites have both the channels and the manpower to deliver late breaking news at lightning speed. Using word of mouth to spread information social sites possess the ability to transmit news unencumbered by any red tape further accelerating the transfer of this information. It is not suggested that online communities replace syndicated news networks as news source but merely that they can compliment them if needed.
